Mint Middle East (MME) was established by Mint in September 2009, following acquisition of Waseela Equity LLC which was founded in 2004.

Key milestones since inception:

Central Bank Approval UAE.
Wages Protection System approved provider – August 2009.
UAE Ministry of Labor approved provider of payroll card services.
Incorporated in Dubai International Investment Centre (DIFC) in 2010.
Closed two acquisitions and successfully integrated the portfolios and personnel.
Growth from 40,000 to over 400, 000 contracted payroll cards since 2009 – largest non-bank institution provider to date.

Mint Middle East LLC (MME) through its predecessor company is the pioneer in the payment of wages to unbanked expatriate workers in the U.A.E. and has built a reputation of dedication to service, both for the employer and the cardholding employee. The founders of the company were instrumental in the establishment of the WPS concept and have seen the birth and growth of the scheme at first hand over the past 5 years. They have worked very closely with the Ministry of Labor (Minister Dr. Al Kaabi) to bring wage payment into a regulation.

MME’s core business is purely providing payroll cards for the unbanked in the UAE. Wage Payment System is the core of the company’s business. The main focus of the company is providing superior service to its employer clients and their employees. There are no other activities to distract the company such as banking or foreign exchange activities.

MME works in partnership with Standard Chartered Bank in UAE to provide electronic disbursement services through the issuance of a pre-paid card to salaried workers who previously received their wages in cash. Salary would be loaded into the prepaid card electronically for the employee to withdraw cash from an AB ATM for free and with normal switch charges from any other public ATMs.

MME also provides ATMs at client premises which are functional 24x7 with 9 Languages for the ease of use of expat working community in UAE. And it owns the largest private ATM Network in UAE. Besides that MME provides end to end services for those clients to comply with the WPS having no or little technical expertise to do so.
